It was our final day in Switzerland. We had nothing particular to do, so we all decided to visit Bern. It was a 30 minutes drive from Interlaken. The weather was really hot that day, we can see teenagers in their summer getup and bikinis. Most probably everyone’s going for a tan.
It was on a Sunday when we went, and it was a public holiday. The town was tranquil, all the shops were closed. The town’s really charming. We drove up a hill so that we get to take a whole picture of the town surrounded by a lake. The town is known as the ‘old town’.
Here’s the look of the ‘Old Town’ up close :
This is a stretch of shop. Fashionable boutiques, exclusive jewelers, antique dealers and traditional markets. Everything is within easy reach, on foot and also under the cover of the arcades.
The clock tower is called the Zytglogge tower, Built in the early 13th century, it has served the city as guard tower, prison, clock tower, centre of urban life and civic memorial.
This is the Berner Münster church, It’s situated beside the Bern’s famous clock, Zytglogge tower. Seemingly under renovation/construction when we were visiting.
